When I first heard of Munkacsi being in town, I remembered his “Boys, lake Tanganyika” as being one of the greatest icons of 20th century photography. However, the posters around the town pictured other great photos of MM, so I was prepared for an interesting show – and an interesting show I got!
If you haven’t seen it yet, go ahead and indulge yourself this weekend. It might well be “the” 3D of the season.
Now that I’m alive again, here comes another set of disparate & higly irrelevant news on Budapest: This year, the Hungarian Parliament is going to have quite a massive Christmas three. (Was it the same size last year?)

Or even better, for non-Hungarian speakers: Lucien Hervé 100 @ Museum of Fine Arts, Budapest. While his name is not among those of the big four Hungarian photographers (Kertész, Moholy-Nagy, Brassaï, Capa), his photographs might easily be part of any major museum’s collection.
Actually, it’s more about the works on Margit Bridge, not allover Budapest, but I assume the things are more or less the same across the city. When I first came here, the bridge was far away from being ready. They were only working at the very base layer – the metalic one, which supports everything ...
